Atrium family house in a small village

Two towers

How to build a modern family house in a small village that speaks the contemporary language while at the same time drawing on the historical morphology of village buildings? Our answer to this question is an atrium house designed as a modern paraphrase of a classic village building with a courtyard and barn. Its spatial arrangement is both closed and open. The inner atrium creates a private enclosed world, but the house also opens out to the surroundings, especially the garden. Its form thus responds to the relatively dense future development of detached houses in the developing part of the small village.
