The process of discovering elements that can be retained
We found suitable premises in the Forum Karlín building. We had one whole floor of the office building at our disposal.
When we arrived to tour the space, we were very excited. The space was somewhat unique in that although it had a long-time tenant, it had been left in a very raw state.
Concept
We decided to build on that rawness and add small touches to reflect Dodo's culture and values while reflecting and honouring its visual identity.
The question of economics and the possible development of the space over time played a large role in the development of the concept. At the very beginning, we identified elements that are worth keeping, that have a certain added value that we will work with further.
Which was clearly 3 shipping containers that we managed to move to new locations and give them a new function.
And then there were the acoustic plasterboard walls. They have a rather characteristic visual, but they fit in beautifully with the rawness and in the end created a nice detail.
Last mile delivery
This was a theme that we interspersed with playful details throughout the interior. We drew on a principle that is inherent in the brand's graphic identity - movement, speed, reliability.
We created an interactive element - a wheel that rotates around its own axis. And we used it in the entrance area and the reception area. The element stimulates curiosity and naturally engages passers-by. They can turn the wheel with a light touch of their hand and change the colour of the whole space.
Space plan
When creating the space plan, we were primarily concerned with how to create smaller workplaces for the teams, which will be connected to the offices of the managers, but at the same time maintain the transparency of the space and comply with the requirements for privacy and soundproofing.
The solution is a mix of smaller units that we have naturally placed around the perimeter. This freed up a central space that is the community heart of the offices. People gather here for a small break, an informal meeting or a coffee. There is also a lectern and space for company-wide events in the centre. The result is a pleasantly busy, vibrant and lively environment.
